The city's major water thoroughfare tagged the Venetian motorway, always remains busy with rushing vaporetti's and colorful gondolas. The grand canal is picturesquely sidelined with beautiful Renaissance palaces. If you are looking forward to an interesting and unique way to go around sightseeing Venice on your city break, you can very well think of taking the water bus up the canal to San Marco.(You are lucky if you get a standing space here). The water bus is also much cheaper when compared with gondolas.
Or you can simply think of sitting and gazing at the numerous boats going up and down the motorway. And, if a vaporetto ride is on the top of your minds, the best time would be as the sun rises or during the sun set. It is in fact an enchanting experience to see the array of lights glistening into the water and the palace facades slowly lighting up.
