The Palazzo is indeed beautiful. This Doge's palace is an important secular building that a visitor gets to see on his Venice city break. The impressive building has served many purposes including an administrative center, prison, senate house, Hall of justice as well as a public archive. You can get to see how the castle really functioned in the bygone era. The rooms done up with excellent workmanship brim with paintings and weapons. There are numerous prisons as well. And, getting to see the exact place where Casanova was imprisoned and from where he absconded is not something you get to see everyday. Just like the palace, the story taht revolves around it is also simply great.
Tip:
*Get yourself a paper fan in case you feel the inside is very hot
*You can take a look at the largest canvas in the world housed in the enormous council room 'Paradise' here. (Takes about two hours to see)
